Το καταφύγιο «Βάλια Κάλντα» είναι ένα διώροφο κτίριο. Στο ισόγειο του κτιρίου βρίσκονται ένας φιλόξενος και ζεστός χώρος υποδοχής και το καθιστικό. Στον πρώτο όροφο βρίσκονται τα δωμάτια.
Τα δωμάτια είναι έξι και συνολικής χωρητικότητας 50 ατόμων (σε κουκέτες). Τα τέσσερα από αυτά μπορούν να φιλοξενήσουν 8 άτομα το καθένα. Ένα δωμάτιο μπορεί να φιλοξενήσει 12 άτομα και ένα ακόμη 6 άτομα. Τα δωμάτια έχουν θέρμανση (καλοριφέρ).
Διατίθενται σεντόνια και κουβέρτες για όσους-ες δεν φέρουν μαζί τους υπνόσακο.
Τα WC και οι ντουζιέρες –ξεχωριστά για γυναίκες και άντρες- είναι κοινής χρήσης. Υπάρχει δε, ζεστό νερό.
Σε όλους τους χώρους του καταφυγίου, υπάρχει δορυφορικό wi-fi.
Στο ισόγειο και στην αυλή του καταφυγίου λειτουργεί το εστιατόριο, το οποίο μπορεί να εξυπηρετήσει μέχρι 100 άτομα.
Στο εστιατόριο έχει κανείς την ευκαιρία να δοκιμάσει πιάτα της ηπειρώτικης και γενικότερα της ελληνικής κουζίνας (π.χ. μαγειρευτά, ψητά, παραδοσιακές πίτες). Το μενού σχεδιάζεται ανάλογα την εποχικότητα ενώ μπορεί να καλύψει και τις ανάγκες vegetarian ή vegan.
Κάθε Χριστούγεννα και Πάσχα, η κουζίνα ετοιμάζει τα ανάλογα παραδοσιακά πιάτα.
Ο χώρος προσφέρεται και για εκδηλώσεις, όπως γάμους ή βαφτίσεις.
Στον υπαίθριο χώρο, δίπλα στο ποτάμι και κάτω από τα σκιερά δέντρα, οι επισκέπτες μπορούν να βρουν τη δροσιά και να απολαύσουν τους ήχους της φύσης.
Σε τμήμα του υπαίθριου χώρου του καταφυγίου υπάρχει η δυνατότητα κατασκήνωσης.
Indoors, rooms, restaurant:
“Katafygio Valia Calda"” refuge is a two-story building. On the ground floor there is a welcoming and warm reception area and the living room. On the first floor are the rooms.
There is 6 rooms. 4 of them can accommodate 8 people each (bunk beds). One room can accommodate 12 people and another one, 6 people. The rooms are heated by radiators.
Sheets and towels are available for those who don’t have a sleeping bag along.
WC and showers – separate women/men – are shared. There is hot water. In all areas there is satellite wi-fi. In the outdoor area, next to the river and under the shady trees, guests can find coolness and enjoy the sounds of nature. In the part of the outdoor area of the refuge there is the possibility of camping.
The restaurant, which can serve up to 100 people, operates on the ground floor and in the shelter's courtyard.
You can try dishes from the local and from Greek cuisine in general (e.g. stews, roasts, traditional pies). The menu is designed according to the seasonality and can also cover vegetarian or vegan needs. Every Christmas and Easter, the kitchen prepares the corresponding traditional dishes. The space is also suitable for events, such as weddings etc.
The shelter's outdoor space is ideal for summer moments. Next to the river and under the shady trees, visitors can feel the cool, soft breeze and enjoy the sounds of nature. A part of the surrounding area is used for camping.
